Lōkahi: The Ukulele Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by Servco Pacific and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation with a mission to unite passionate individuals from schools, the music industry, nonprofits, and the broader community to transform music education in Hawai‘i. Lōkahi gives all students, no matter their circumstances, access to a high-quality music education rooted in cultural identity.
Servco Pacific celebrated its 100-year anniversary with a $500K donation to 55 public schools and 8,500 students across Hawai‘i. Facilitated through Fender Play Foundation, students received instruments and subscriptions to music learning app, Fender Play.
Lōkahi: The Ukulele Collective, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was started to bring music education to schools across Hawai‘i. The Hawai‘i Department of Education sponsored the first teacher-focused interdisciplinary ukulele and writing course designed to seed new music programs in schools. Backed by the celebrated local music artist Paula Fuga with support from other local artists, like Grammy-winner Jack Johnson, the first Ho‘olōkahi Lyrics Writing Challenge kicked off with over 800 students participating from 33 schools across 4 islands.
